Are you fully committed to a final year project or a team project involving the development of healthcare technologies? Then we have good news for you!<\/p>\n<p><strong>In a nutshell <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Teckno2030 Student Award recognizes student work that promotes the development of responsible healthcare technologies by following one or more of the eight guiding principles. Work carried out individually, in pairs or in teams is welcome. It is an initiative coordinated by ECAM and Yuza, in partnership with technology-oriented universities and higher education institutions in the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, and supported by the Dr Dani\u00ebl De Coninck Fund managed by the King Baudouin Foundation.<\/p>\n<p>The Teckno2030 Student Award is open to Master&rsquo;s (1 and 2) and Bachelor&rsquo;s (specialization) students from French-speaking higher education institutions, and welcomes dissertations, theses and group works (e.g. projects carried out by a team of students), all focusing on healthcare technologies.<\/p>\n<p>By highlighting the winning projects and their authors, the Teckno2030 Student Award aims to stimulate the development of healthcare technologies that meet the needs of patients, citizens and society, in line with the eight Teckno2030 guiding principles. Are you eligible for the Teckno2030 Student Award?\u00a0\u00bb _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.20.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb open=\u00a0\u00bboff\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p>First check whether you are eligible to take part in the Teckno2030 Student Award:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Are you a student enrolled at a French-speaking university or college, in a science and technology course (engineering sciences and technology, computer sciences)?<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Have you submitted and defended your work during the 2023-2024 academic year?<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Have you paid attention to any of the eight guiding principles in your work?<\/p>\n<p>If you&rsquo;ve answered yes to all three questions, then you&rsquo;ll be eligible to compete for the first edition of the Teckno2030 Student Prize, to be awarded in November 2024.<\/p>\n<p>There are two award categories (with equivalent evaluation criteria):<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Graduation work (individual\/binomial) in Master 2 or Bachelor of Specialization programs<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Group work\/team project (master 1, master 2, bachelor of specialization)<\/p>\n<p>Even if your work is confidential, you can still take part in the Teckno2030 Student Award. The jury must be able to read and evaluate your work. We also ask you to justify the evaluation criteria on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ecam.be\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/teckno2030_student_award_application_form.docx\" rel=\"attachment noopener wp-att-10051\" target=\"_blank\">application form<\/a>. We want to be able to share this information with the public.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=\u00a0\u00bb4. How are the winners of the Teckno2030 Student Award selected?\u00a0\u00bb _builder_version=\u00a0\u00bb4.20.4&Prime; _module_preset=\u00a0\u00bbdefault\u00a0\u00bb global_colors_info=\u00a0\u00bb{}\u00a0\u00bb open=\u00a0\u00bboff\u00a0\u00bb]<\/p>\n<p>The selection process takes place in two stages: first a pre-selection within each participating institution, then the final selection at the Belgian French-speaking level.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 1: pre-selection within each institution<\/p>\n<p>With the Teckno2030 Student Award, the competition begins at university and college level. Each institution is free to organize the selection process in its own way. The jury at institutional level selects a maximum of two final works for each category covered by the institution (master&rsquo;s or bachelor&rsquo;s degree), which can then compete for the award.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In autumn 2023, you will receive further information from your institution about this pre-selection procedure.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 2: Final selection at the Belgian French-speaking level<\/p>\n<p>An independent jury will scrutinize each institution&rsquo;s selections for each of the two award categories based on the evaluation criteria.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>And then the moment will finally come&#8230; In November 2024, we&rsquo;ll announce the winners of the Teckno2030 Student Award. This is your chance to stand out and shine. So don&rsquo;t hesitate and try your luck. The winners in each category will also receive a financial prize of 1,500 euros for their work. The jury takes six criteria into account when assessing the work: four criteria linked to the objectives of the above-mentioned guiding principles, one criterion linked to the creativity and innovation dimensions of the work, and one criterion linked to the students&rsquo; personal vision of the eight guiding principles.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Criterion 1: Promote a human approach to technology and data management<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Criterion 2: Support societal roots by ensuring that technology is both reliable and inclusive<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Criterion 3: Encourage citizen and stakeholder participation in technology decisions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Criterion 4: Controlling the quality of technologies and their impact on society<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Criteria 5 : Creativity and innovation<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Criterion 6: Personal vision of the guiding principles<\/p>\n<p>It is not necessary to meet each of the first four criteria to have a chance of winning a Teckno2030 Student Award.
