ECAM is committed to a sustainable future
As an institution that trains future engineers, ECAM is aware of its societal role in the transition to a more sustainable world.
To this end, ECAM is revising its programmes to incorporate the knowledge and skills needed to meet the challenges of sustainable development, whatever the students' field of specialisation.
Meeting the challenges of the transition
Future engineers will acquire in-depth knowledge and skills to meet the many challenges of the transition.
By understanding the impact of climate change, social inequalities, the collapse of biodiversity and the depletion of natural resources, our students will learn to design solutions that are fair and respectful of the environment.

To meet these challenges, our engineers are developing essential skills, including :

- inputs and processes: environmentally-friendly solutions.
- Other skills: creativity, critical thinking and scientific rigour are key elements throughout their training.

Concrete actions
ECAM is actively involved in the transition :

- Building's carbon footprint: Sustainable Development unit measures our ecological footprint in order to achieve the ‘0 carbon’ objective.
- Raising and training: teachers and administrative staff are already taking part in workshops and conferences on climate and transition.
- Back to school for the transition: in September, students will take part in a workshop and a conference and will be invited to join the Ecoteam.
- Round tables: at the end of 2024, with the help of industry partners, teachers will identify the skills and learning outcomes needed to actively meet the challenges of the transition.

As a higher education institution concerned that its practices are aligned with the social, environmental, cultural and economic challenges of these 17 SDGs, ECAM is working to integrate gender issues into its sustainability policy.
