Master of Science in Industrial Engineering - Surveyor - Work-linked training
The profession
In addition to the “art of building”, the construction sector involves “building according to the rules”, and this is where the role of the industrial engineer surveyor comes in.
Drawing on his background in construction, he will use his legal knowledge and expertise to manage certain more specific aspects, such as topographical demarcation, legal and urban planning constraints, dispute arbitration, legal technical expertise...
Managing a project, assessing a customer's needs, finding and negotiating solutions are just some of the facets of the industrial surveyor's job.
Organization of studies
Thanks to this innovative program, ECAM students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and familiarize themselves with the realities of the surveying engineering profession, by working on concrete projects in complete autonomy, with equipment using the latest technologies. During their theoretical courses, students will benefit from high-quality teaching provided by a qualified teaching team and partner companies specialized in the sector, who will guide them and help them develop the technical skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their future careers.
Work-study programs offer students an invaluable opportunity to forge links with partner companies, facilitating their professional integration even before their studies are completed. Participating companies will also benefit from the contribution of these young talents, who will be able to contribute to their projects while bringing a fresh perspective and up-to-date skills.
The alternation
The Master's program combines equal parts teaching and paid internships. This method provides a level of skills that is more in tune with the realities of the field.
- The on-the-job training part of the program gives students the opportunity to experiment with the concepts taught in the auditorium, and to gain solid initial professional experience.
- The Master's degree offers the opportunity to obtain a level of skills more in line with the reality of the job market and the needs of companies.
Perspectives
For the start of a professional career, work-study training combines field experience with a broad theoretical background. It provides a cross-disciplinary vision of problems (project-based, problem-based, etc.) and human relations (team management, conflict management, etc.).
It opens many doors in the technical and legal fields of construction and regional planning, in both private and public companies, or as head of one's own office:
- Chartered surveyor (protected profession)
- project management,
- delegated project manager/ project manager's advisor
- technical expertise
